THRACE. Kardia. Circa 350-309 BC. Tetrachalkon (Bronze, 18 mm, 5.94 g, 6 h). Wreathed head of Persephone facing slightly to right, wearing triple-pendant earrings and necklace. Rev. KAPΔIA Lion walking left, head to right; to left, star; below, grain ear. BMC 11 var., HGC 3, 1478 var. and SNG Copenhagen 866 var. (all with head of Persephone facing slightly to left). Rare. An interesting issue of charming style and with a magnificent bluish patina. Minor marks, otherwise, very fine.
